SPLIT

ACRYLIC

CHAIR

National Institute Of Design

2017

We might have seen a lot of chairs made of pipes. This split concept inspiration came from bananas.

The pipe starts from the front legs, splitting at a junction to form an armrest and then re-uniting at the back legs.

The acrylic base provides an illusion of more space to the user. The structure of this chair is seamless, stable and visually pleasing to its user.

The whole new segment can be created by changing the base material of the seat.
